Our Rainbow Eggers are an assortment of everything we have to offer. Forest Eggers (multigenerational olive eggers), Easter Eggers, Purebred Ameraucana, and Purebred Red Laced Wyandottes are included, but Rainbow eggers also provide you the chance at our heavy blom layers for the possibility of mauve, pink, grey, and purple eggs. If we end up with any extra purebred Marans, they will be offered up within the Rainbow Eggers orders for 2026. Offspring from this flock will have a unique array of feather patterns/colours, and a stunning variety of egg colours.
Care Requirements
Breed within our Rainbow Eggers are hardy, adaptable birds perfect for beginner-intermediate flock owners:
- Feed: Standard layer feed (16-18% protein)
- Space: 4 square feet in coop, 10 square feet in run per bird
- Housing: Regular chicken coop with ventilation and draft free in the winter. Outside run provides access to shade in the summer.
- Health: Generally very healthy due to hybrid vigor
- Climate: Cold-hardy and heat-tolerant
They're low-maintenance and forgiving of beginner mistakes, making them ideal starter chickens.
Life expectancy: 6-8 years with good care.
